Job Description:Our client is seeking a skilled and dedicated Maintenance Technician to join their team. This role requires a strong background in both mechanical and electrical systems, with the ability to troubleshoot, repair, and maintain various equipment. The successful candidate will be proactive in solving problems, committed to high-quality standards, and focused on ensuring machinery operates efficiently. Excellent communication skills and teamwork are essential to ensure smooth operations and minimal disruptions during maintenance activities.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Perform routine inspections and maintenance of equipment to ensure optimal performance.

  • Troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including logic controllers and interpreting schematics.

  • Conduct mechanical repairs and maintenance tasks, including welding and fabrication.

  • Keep accurate records of maintenance activities and completed repairs.

  • Provide leadership and mentorship to junior maintenance staff as needed.

  • Collaborate with other departments to minimize downtime during maintenance activities.

  • Respond promptly to maintenance requests, providing excellent customer service.

  • Adhere to food safety, health, and safety regulations while performing maintenance tasks.


Required Experience and Skills:

  • Minimum of 2 years of experience as a Maintenance Technician in a food manufacturing environment or similar role.

  • Strong mechanical knowledge and proficiency in reading and interpreting schematics.

  • Proven ability to troubleshoot and repair electrical systems, including logic controllers.

  • Welding and fabrication experience (minimum of 2 years).

  • Excellent English communication skills, both written and verbal.

  • Demonstrated leadership and supervisory abilities.

  • Commitment to maintaining high work quality and safety standards.


Job Type: Full-time

Pay: £14.00–£14.50 per hour

Expected Hours: 40–50 hours per week

  • 10–12 hour shifts

  • Monday to Friday and weekend availability


Education and Certification Requirements:

  • Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)
