Job Description:Our client, a poultry abattoir, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their team. This pivotal role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering with sound mechanical knowledge. The ideal candidate will excel in root cause analysis and debugging techniques, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet production demands while adhering to strict industry standards.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Collaborate with the engineering, production, and other departments to maintain operational efficiency.

  • Maintain "audit-ready" records and ensure workplace hygiene and cleanliness at all times.

  • Oversee the maintenance, improvement, and performance of machinery, including the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and other waste equipment.

  • Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.

  • Identify and implement opportunities for improvement to enhance equipment reliability and eliminate recurring faults.

  • Perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities as directed.

  • Conduct fault diagnostics and repairs, providing feedback to improve the maintenance system.

  • Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).

  • Install and provide engineering guidance for new equipment as needed.

  • Accurately document activities and report for effective information sharing.

  • Participate in training and team meetings as required.

  • Maintain flexibility with shifts to meet operational needs, including work outside production hours.


Qualifications:

  • Proven experience as a multi-disciplined engineer with a minimum of 2 years in the food or FMCG industry.

  • Electrical engineering expertise with mechanical knowledge.

  • Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualifications (in-date).

  • Food Safety Level 2 certification (or willingness to obtain).

  • Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.


Shifts and Schedule:

  • Shifts may include 10–12 hour shifts, day or night, with flexibility required for weekend and holiday availability to meet KPIs.
