Job Description:Our client, a poultry abattoir, is seeking a dedicated and experienced Multi-Skilled Engineer to join their team. This pivotal role requires a strong foundation in electrical engineering with sound mechanical knowledge. The ideal candidate will excel in root cause analysis and debugging techniques, ensuring high-quality solutions that meet production demands while adhering to strict industry standards.
Key Responsibilities:
Collaborate with the engineering, production, and other departments to maintain operational efficiency.
Maintain "audit-ready" records and ensure workplace hygiene and cleanliness at all times.
Oversee the maintenance, improvement, and performance of machinery, including the Effluent Treatment Plant (ETP) and other waste equipment.
Ensure adherence to Health & Safety, Food Safety, Environmental, and Quality standards.
Identify and implement opportunities for improvement to enhance equipment reliability and eliminate recurring faults.
Perform planned, preventative, and reactive maintenance activities as directed.
Conduct fault diagnostics and repairs, providing feedback to improve the maintenance system.
Ensure compliance with Food Safety and Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP).
Install and provide engineering guidance for new equipment as needed.
Accurately document activities and report for effective information sharing.
Participate in training and team meetings as required.
Maintain flexibility with shifts to meet operational needs, including work outside production hours.
Qualifications:
Proven experience as a multi-disciplined engineer with a minimum of 2 years in the food or FMCG industry.
Electrical engineering expertise with mechanical knowledge.
Level 3 or equivalent engineering qualifications (in-date).
Food Safety Level 2 certification (or willingness to obtain).
Excellent communication skills and the ability to work independently and collaboratively.
Shifts and Schedule:
Shifts may include 10–12 hour shifts, day or night, with flexibility required for weekend and holiday availability to meet KPIs.
