A specialist food production company is looking for a Part-Time Technical Manager to oversee food safety and quality management within its slaughterhouse operations. This role is crucial in ensuring full compliance with legislation and maintaining high industry standards.


Location: Staffordshire

Hours: 2 days per week (covering slaughter days)

Salary: Competitive, based on experience


The Role:

  • Oversee and maintain the HACCP system, ensuring compliance with food safety legislation

  • Ensure full adherence to industry regulations, including food hygiene, slaughter practices, and traceability

  • Liaise with the official veterinarian and external authorities, implementing recommendations and compliance actions

  • Monitor production records and documentation to ensure accuracy and regulatory compliance

  • Provide guidance and training to staff on food safety procedures and best practices


What We’re Looking For:

  • Experience working in a slaughterhouse or food production environment

  • Strong knowledge of food safety regulations, animal welfare, and HACCP systems

  • Excellent communication skills to liaise with veterinarians, regulatory bodies, and production teams

  • Relevant food safety qualifications would be advantageous
