Job Description:Our client is seeking a dedicated and experienced Production Supervisor to oversee food production operations in their poultry cutting plant. This pivotal role requires strong leadership, a thorough understanding of food production processes, and the ability to effectively manage a team. The successful candidate will ensure that production runs efficiently, meets customer and regulatory standards, and maintains the highest levels of food safety, quality, and health and safety compliance.


Key Responsibilities:

  1. Oversee the factory and machinery within the cutting plant to ensure smooth and efficient operations.

  2. Supervise site activities, ensuring compliance with food safety, Red Tractor, Halal, quality, and health and safety standards.

  3. Manage product movement, storage, dispatch, and relevant documentation, including external areas and freezer storage.

  4. Ensure the cutting plant consistently produces products to legal and customer specifications, with proper handling and labeling procedures.

  5. Monitor production against Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), achieving required volumes and maintaining quality while adhering to food safety standards.

  6. Accurately complete and ensure the timely submission of required documentation.

  7. Verify final products against customer orders and report any discrepancies immediately.

  8. Supervise staff, ensure accurate completion of timesheets, and foster positive employee relations to maintain high morale and productivity.

  9. Maintain cleanliness and welfare standards in all work areas, supporting teams as needed.

  10. Identify and support key staff for promotion and training opportunities.

  11. Develop training programs and ensure compliance with current requirements and legislation. Effectively communicate policy and procedural changes to staff.

  12. Provide coverage and support in other production areas as needed.

  13. Communicate respectfully and clearly with colleagues, supervisors, managers, visitors, and contractors.


Qualifications and Skills:

  • Proven experience in a supervisory role within food production or a related industry (minimum 2 years).

  • Food Safety and HACCP Level 3 certification (or above).

  • Mechanical knowledge of food processing equipment (highly desirable).

  • Strong proficiency in basic mathematics for calculating production metrics and inventory management.

  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to lead and manage a diverse team effectively.

  • Proactive problem-solving and strong organisational skills.


Job Type: Full-time


Pay: Starting from £28,000 per year

Education and Experience:

  • Diploma of Higher Education (preferred)

  • Minimum 2 years of supervisory experience in a food manufacturing setting
