Location: Hinton House, Warrington
Contract: 12-month term, inside IR35, renewable
About the Role
We are seeking a Mechanical Designer to support the Sellafield SEP Machines Project, responsible for producing high-quality mechanical designs across a range of mechanical handling, process, and lifting systems. The role requires expertise in AutoCAD and a strong understanding of engineering drawing standards.
Key Responsibilities
Utilise the Sellafield Drawing Management System to deliver design work packages across various mechanical systems.
Implement drawing modifications and new designs based on engineering instructions or marked-up drawings.
Produce concept, detailed, and manufacturing drawings for mechanical components and systems.
Ensure compliance with BS 8888 & GPS standards in all engineering drawings.
Collaborate with engineers, stakeholders, and project teams to develop fit-for-purpose mechanical designs.
Maintain clear documentation and version control within the Sellafield Drawing Management System (Cimage).
Essential Requirements
Proficiency in AutoCAD with experience in mechanical design.
Ability to produce engineering drawings for concept, detailed, and manufacturing tasks.
Working knowledge of engineering drawing standards (BS 8888, GPS).
Strong verbal and written communication skills for liaising with engineers and stakeholders.
Desirable Skills
Ability to apply engineering judgment to design challenges.
Knowledge of Sellafield’s drawing requirements and Drawing Management System (Cimage).
